Joyce Lin

Joyce joined Cal Poly’s Mathematics Department in 2013, where her research and teaching centered around applied mathematics. In particular, her research is in the areas of mathematical biology, modeling the electrical activity in cardiac tissue, fluid dynamics and studying landscape erosion.

Currently, as associate dean, Joyce focuses on student success in the areas of support, advising, retention, care, concern and conduct. She also coordinates the diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives for the college and oversees program and curriculum development and program review and assessment. In addition, Joyce serves as the college liaison for graduate and international programs.
