In 2023, the Bailey College wanted to publish a printed magazine focused entirely on undergraduate research. It was a great idea, and one that possibly hadn’t been done yet by any other undergraduate institution. The only problem was budget. There was none for this great idea.

Richard Bradshaw (Math, ’70) and his wife Peggy liked our concept as well and agreed to fund the inaugural issue of Undergraduate Research, now an annual magazine publication highlighting the exceptional work of Bailey College students and faculty across all fields. The Bradshaws continued to generously support the production of Undergraduate Research for the past three years, and recently committed to five additional years, making it the first fully donor-funded annual magazine published at Cal Poly.
