Bailey College Recognitions and Awards
Science education Professor Tina Cheuk was selected for the National Academies of Sciences Committee on PreK-12 STEM Ed Innovations as an expert panel member. Cheuk also received a 2023 Cal Poly President’s Diversity Award for her contributions as a research, educator and mentor of underrepresented students.
Cal Poly’s Distinguished Scholarship Award honoree and biological sciences Professor Clinton Francis was recently awarded $893,079. The funding is part of a $2.6 million National Science Foundation grant, also involving researchers at Duke University and Washington State University.
Physics Professor Jodi Christiansen was selected as the 2024 recipient of the Astronomy Faculty Research Fellowship established by the Marrujo Foundation. Christansen's research with the VERITAS International Collaboration focuses on very-high-energy photons emitted extremely close to supermassive black holes.
